Pastor Elmer D. Geiser

Pastor Elmer D. Geiser, 90, Thurman (formerly of the Vinton community) passed away peacefully at his home Wednesday, December 12, 2007. He was born November 2, 1917 in Orrville, Ohio, son of the late David and Ida Forrer Geiser. A farmer for 40 years in Wayne County, Ohio, Pastor Geiser moved to Southern Ohio in 1956 where he served as a Minister and Pastor in the Service of the Christian Faith until his death. In addition, he was a self employed piano technician and piano tuner for many years.

Pastor Geiser married Goldie Sommers May 30, 1942 and she survives with two sons and three daughters: Kenneth (Pam) Geiser, Pataskala, Ohio; Twila Bach, Jeromesville, Ohio; Joanne (Lee) Hoffman, Thurman, Ohio; Karen (Mark) Jackson, Thurman, Ohio; Dale (Kris) Geiser, Thurman, Ohio; fourteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Marilyn Neuenschwander in 1983.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, December 15, 2007 at the Community Christian Fellowship Church, 290 Trails End Rd, Thurman with Pastor Dale Geiser officiating. Burial will follow in Vinton Memorial Park, Vinton, Ohio. Friends may call at McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Wetherholt Chapel, 420 First Ave, Gallipolis Friday, December 14, 2007 2:00-4:00 PM and 6:00-9:00 PM.
