Patsy Gwinn (Tench) Ingels

Patsy Gwinn Ingels, aka Hallie Leanna Tench Ingels, 91, Athens, Ohio (formerly Gallipolis) passed away Sunday, May 2, 2004 at Kimes Convalescent Center, Athens. She was born October 30, 1912 in Slab Fork, West Virginia, daughter of the late Walton G. and Laura B. Payne Tench. From the age of nine months, Patsy was reared in the home of her aunt and uncle, the late Lelia Payne Gwinn and John R. Gwinn.

A 1931 graduate of Gallia Academy High School, Gallipolis, Mrs. Ingels received a B. S. Degree, Secondary Education, Ohio University, 1935 and was a member of the Alpha Delta Pi Sorority. Following her graduation from Ohio University, she taught school for seven years.

On June 1, 1935, at St. Marys, West Virginia she married Dr. Clyde J. Ingels, a dentist who practiced in Middleport, Ohio, for thirty five years. He preceded her in death as well as her two sisters: Mary Frances Tench Jones and Sara Elizabeth Tench Clayton.

Surviving are one son, John C.(Glenna) Ingels, Pomeroy, Ohio and granddaughter, Carrie L. (Brandon) Ingels Saunders, Athens, Ohio; two great grandsons: Kaeden J. And Wyatt Saunders, Athens, Ohio and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Wednesday May 5, 2004 in the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Wetherholt Chapel, 420 First Ave, Gallipolis with Rev. Bob Ingram and Rev. Barbara Jean Carriere officiating. Interment will follow in Mound Hill Cemetery, Gallipolis. Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday 5:00-7:00 PM.
