Paul Eddy France, 82, Gallipolis, Ohio passed away Wednesday, August 6, 2008 at Holzer Medical Center, Gallipolis. He was born October 5, 1925 in Gallipolis, Ohio, son of the late Albert Paul and Iva Brothers France. Paul Eddy graduated from Gallia Academy High School in 1944. He was an exceptionally gifted musician and later enlisted in the United States Marine Corp and served as a sergeant of the Marine Corp Bands. His love of music followed him throughout his life as he continued to play the saxophone until his health no longer permitted. Paul Eddy was also an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing and was happiest when hiking in the woods.
Paul is survived by his wife, Ada Waugh, whom he married on August 2, 1958 at St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Gallipolis, Ohio; son, Jeffrey Paul (Jana) France, Plymouth, Minnesota; two daughters: Jeannie (Randy) Wilson, Middleport, Ohio and JoEllen (Andy) Fisher, Gallipolis, Ohio; grandchildren: Alexandra and Annika France, Ashley and Paul Andrew Fisher and Caroline Wilson;
brother, Robert E. (Donnie) France, Gallipolis, Ohio; niece and nephew: Robin (Dane) Sprouse, Chillicothe, Ohio and Gene France, Gallipolis, Ohio.
A Memorial service will be held 3:00 PM Sunday, August 10, 2008 at St. Peter's Episcopal Church with Mother Leslie Flemming and Mother Marie Mulford officiating. Burial will be at Mound Hill Cemetery, Gallipolis.
