Rachel M. (Gentry) Murray

Rachel M. Murray, age 91, Bidwell, Ohio (formerly of Chillicothe, Ohio) died Sunday, October 13, 2013. She was born in Chilhowie, Virginia September 9, 1922 to the late Andrew M. Gentry, who preceded her in death October 1940 and Sarah M. Shupe Gentry Dolinger, who also preceded her in 1964. She was employed by the J.J. Newberry Company for 17 years, Britt's Department Store for 17 years and the Westmoreland Nursing Home for 2 ½ years.

She married Otis L. Murray July 17, 1950 and he preceded her in death November 4, 1965. Also preceding were two brothers, John A. Gentry, August 4, 1996 and Robert H. Gentry, January 10, 2002; sister-in-law, Anna Lou Gentry, December, 1995; a niece, Vicky Carpenter, October 19, 2001; niece, Linda Parisi, December, 2004; stepbrothers, Jack and Rosevelt Dolinger, 2008; stepsister-in-law, Charlotte Dolinger, February, 2007 and sister-in-law, Dorothy M. Gentry, August 14, 2007.

Rachel is survived by a special friend, Russell Hutchison, Chillicothe, Ohio; niece, Wanda Erskine, Newark Delaware and several nieces and nephews; an adopted son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Linda Hutchison, Grove City, Ohio; adopted grandchildren, Carissa, Erika and David Hutchison, Grove City, Ohio; Jordan and Kristy Yoder, Grove City, Ohio; Darrel Puckett, Chillicothe, Ohio; and Neri Puckett, Chillicothe, Ohio as well as many, many friends.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 PM Wednesday, October 16, 2013 in the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Vinton Chapel, with Pastor Herman George, officiating. Burial will follow in Byers Cemetery, Coalton, Ohio. Friends and family may call at the funeral home Wednesday 11:00 AM until the time of service.
