Ralph W. "Buddy" Spence, 69, Bidwell, Ohio passed away Monday, August 15, 2016 at his residence. He was born April 11, 1947 at Morgantown, West Virginia, son of the late Homer K. Spence and Thyra X. (Mitchell) Castle. Buddy retired after forty-two years of service from the Bob Evans Sausage Plant, Bidwell, Ohio, was a member of the Vinton F&AM Lodge #131 and enjoyed being a high school sports official for baseball, football, volleyball and girls' softball for many years.

Buddy married Etta Marie (Maynard) Spence, who survives along with their children: Tina Craig, Gallipolis, Ohio; Lisa Spence, Columbus, Ohio; Karen (Kevin) Blankenship, Gallipolis, Ohio; Wayne (Jona Jo) Spence, Spring Creek, Nevada and Michael Spence, Bidwell, Ohio; twelve grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; brother, Roger Spence, Cleveland, Ohio and sister, Carole Lynn Miller, Columbus, Ohio.

In addition to his parents, Buddy was preceded in death by a brother, Jerry Spence and sister, Lou Ann Jewett.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Friday, August 19, 2016 in the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Wetherholt Chapel, Gallipolis. Burial will follow in the Ohio Valley Memory Gardens. Friends and family may call at the funeral home Friday 12:00 Noon to the time of the service. A Masonic Service conducted by the Vinton F&AM Lodge #131 will conducted at 12:50 PM.
