Randall K. Callihan, 60, Bidwell, Ohio passed away unexpectedly Monday, January 24, 2011 at Holzer Medical Center, Gallipolis. He was born July 20, 1950 to Opal (Sayre) Callihan of Gallipolis and the late Clifford Callihan in Gallia County, Ohio. He was an Air Force Veteran, served as Master of Ceremonies for the Bob Evans Farm Festival for more than 30 years as well as the Miss Gallia County Pageant at the Gallia County Jr. Fair. He was an Internet Technology Specialist at the Bossard Memorial Library for 10 years, and a talented musician that led him to meet many wonderful friends. He also attended the Simpson Chapel United Methodist Church in Rio Grande.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his high school sweetheart and wife, Peggy Atha Callihan, whom he married February 23, 1969 in Bidwell and shared a love together of horses and music; a daughter, Stacy (Thomas) McChesney, Huntington, West Virginia; brother, Gary (Teresa) Callihan, Dresden, Ohio; sister, Trhonda (Tim) Casto, Vinton, Ohio; sisters-in-law, Judy (Gary) Gannon, Boston Spa, New York and Sandra (Charlie) McFarland, Bidwell; mother-in-law, Wanda Atha, Bidwell; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews.
A Memorial service will be conducted 3:00 PM Saturday, January 29, 2011 at the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Wetherholt Chapel, 420 First Ave, Gallipolis, with Rev. David Young officiate. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00-3:00 PM Saturday. Military Rites will be conducted by the Gallia County Veterans Service Organization.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to any charity or veterans organization of choice.
