Raymond Otis Affolter, 70, Vinton passed away Sunday, December 5, 2004 at his residence. He was born August 10, 1934 in Charleston, West Virginia, son of the late J. Will and Wilda Affolter. Following his retirement in 1999 from Power Technology in Columbus, with 50 years of service, he moved to Gallia County, where he was a member of the Living Water Church at Kerr.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Reba Affolter; a daughter, Beverly Affolter; and an infant brother, Clifford Affolter.

He is survived by his wife, Donna Marcum Turner Affolter; children: Gail Stout, Anderson, Indiana; Steve (Charlotte) Affolter, Stoutsville, Ohio and Drema (Jim) Moore, Obetz; stepchildren: Jack (Ruth) Harless, Centerville; Jeffrey (Carol) Turner, Rio Grande and Gregory (Hester) Turner, Vinton; seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, nine step-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren; and brothers and sisters: John (Mary) Affolter, Miami, Florida; Mildred Call, Buffalo, West Virginia and Frances Grant, Teays Valley, West Virginia.

Services will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, December 8, 2004 at the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Vinton with the Rev. Dan Freeman officiating. Burial will follow at 2:30 PM in the Fernwood Cemetery at Lockbourne. Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday one hour prior to services.
