Raymond Taylor

Raymond L. Taylor, 83, Bidwell, Ohio passed away Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at his home. He was born April 22, 1930 in Point Pleasant, West Virginia to the late John Wesley Taylor and Charlotte Rose Shepard Taylor. Raymond was a Veteran of the United States Army, Korean Conflict; Life Member of VFW Post 4464, Gallipolis, Ohio and a Member American Legion Post 23 of Point Pleasant.

He is survived by daughter Teresa Taylor, Columbus, Ohio; grandson, Erik Taylor, Columbus, Ohio and a great-grandchild Ryan Serafini. Also surviving is his special friend, Rose Lawson, Bidwell, Ohio and her children: Glenna (Herb) Peoples, Wellston, Ohio; Brenda (Paul) Justis, Little Hocking, Ohio; Eddie (Oma) Lawson, Weatherford, Oklahoma; Teddy (Tami) Lawson, Creedmoore, North Carolina; Mike (Debbie) Lawson, Vinton, Ohio; Pat (Karen) Lawson, Vinton, Ohio; Barbara Hill (John Kersey), Bidwell, Ohio; Glenn (Carol) Lawson, Vinton, Ohio; Ruth (Jim) Davis, Bidwell, Ohio; Shawn (Tina) Lawson, Vinton, Ohio and Carolyn Lawson (Mike Mourning), Point Pleasant, West Virginia; sister-in-law, Phyllis Taylor, Gallipolis, Ohio and several extended family members.

In addition to his parents, Ray was preceded in death by two sons, Michael and Danny Ray Taylor and three brothers, John, Richard, and Otis Taylor.

Funeral services will be held 6:00 PM Monday, April 21, 2014 at the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Vinton Ohio. Military Rites will be conducted by American Legion Post 23 Honor Guard. Friends and family may call 4:00-6:00 PM Monday at the funeral home. In keeping with his wishes, cremation will follow.
