Rex L. Roberts

Rex L. Roberts, 81, Bidwell, Ohio passed away Monday, July 12, 2021 at his daughter's home surrounded by his loving family. He was born March 25, 1940 in Elenor, West Virginia, son of the late Earl Mont and Christmas Elzetta "Sadie" Pelfrey Roberts. Rex retired in 1995 from Goodyear Tire & Rubber after 25 years of service where he was a control operator. His memberships include the Point Pleasant Moose Lodge #731, Point Pleasant, West Virginia and the "Hot and Ready Club". He was known for his quick wittedness and sense of humor. Rex married Brenda Sue Morgan Roberts and she preceded him in death September 4, 2014.

To this union were born four children: James "Craig" (Joanne) Roberts, Vinton, Ohio; Paulette (Frank) Flinner, Bidwell, Ohio; Bernitta "Nittie" (Tracy) Goodwin, Russellville, Arkansas and Michael Anthony Roberts, Bidwell, Ohio. Also missing Rex are grandchildren: Zach (Cassie) Roberts, Riley (fiancée Mikalya Pope,) Roberts, Shayna Rushford, Derek (fiancée Tara Hawkins) Taylor, Drew Goodwin and Jenna (Dalton) Pearson; three great-grandchildren; brother, Carl "Frank" Roberts, Bidwell, Ohio; sisters, Helen (Don) Copeland, Abbeville, Alabama and Katherine Roberts Friend, Bidwell, Ohio; special family member, Tayler Bradbury Taylor; special family friends, Janelle Hitchcock, Carolyn Mourning, Sandy Smith-Ellcessor and a host of nieces, nephews and family friends.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by grandson, Noah Rushford; brothers, Melvin, Max and Charles "Buddy" Roberts and sister, Rebecca "Janie" Merry.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, July 17, 2021 in the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Wetherholt Chapel, Gallipolis, Ohio with Pastor John O'Brien officiate. Burial will follow in Leon Cemetery, Leon, West Virginia. Family and friends may call at the funeral home Saturday 10:00 AM to the service time of 11:00 AM.
