Richard Allen Adkins

Richard Allen Adkins, 53, Bidwell, Ohio died Tuesday, February 25, 2020 in the Adena Regional Medical Center, Chillicothe, Ohio. He was born April 18, 1966 in Columbus, Ohio, son of the late Raymond C. and Mildred E. (Russell) Adkins. His memberships included the Gallia County Veterans Funeral Detail, Vinton Volunteer Fire Department, VFW Post 4464 Auxiliary and the Sons of the American Legion Post 27. He married Tonya Pate Adkins April 6, 2019, who survives.

Also surviving Richard is a son, Austin Adkins and stepson, Justin (Jody) Blankenship, Bidwell, Ohio; grandchildren: Jada and Mya, Waverly, Ohio; Haeden, Bidwell, Ohio and Cianna and Zoey, Syracuse, Ohio; brother, Randy (Debbie) Adkins, Vinton, Ohio and sisters: Marcy Gregory, Vinton, Ohio and Ramey Dray, Gallipolis, Ohio in addition to several nieces, nephews and extended family members.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, stepfather, Charles Adkins; infant sister, Rhonda; brother, Melburn "Sonny" Adkins and nephew, Shawn Gregory.

Funeral services will be conducted 3:00 PM Sunday, March 1, 2020 in the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Vinton Chapel, with Clyde Ferrell and Ted Russell officiates. Cremation services will follow. Family and friends may call at the funeral home Sunday 1:00-3:00 PM.
