Robert R. Hersman

Robert R. Hersman, 92, Cheshire passed away at his residence Friday, September 14, 2007. He was born February 20, 1915 in Mason, West Virginia, son of the late Christopher H. Hersman and Bertha Bright Hersman. He was a member of Morgan Center Wesleyan Church and White Oak Baptist Church. Robert married Alzada Cart May 10, 2003 and she survives.
In addition to his wife he is survived by one daughter, Helen McClellan, Vinton; four step-children: Wilmer Halfhill, Gallipolis; Doug Halfhill, Cheshire; Tom Halfhill, Cheshire and Judy Thompson, Gallipolis; three grandchildren: Charles Stewart, Ocala, Florida; Joyce Double, Vinton; and Eric Knotts, Vinton; fifteen step-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one step-great grandchild; and four great-great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents was preceded in death by wives Ruth E. Hersman, May 8, 1988 and Maggie Hersman, December 18, 2000; two grandsons, John Stewart and Bobby Joe Stewart and two step-sons, Lowell Halfhill and Joe Halfhill.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday September 18, 2007 in White Oak Baptist Church, Bidwell with Pastor Carl Ward officiating. Burial will follow in Morgan Center Cemetery. Friends may call at the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Vinton Monday 5:00-8:00 PM.
