Robert H. Steele

Robert H. Steele, 92, Vinton (Wilkesville Community), Ohio, passed away at the Twin Maples Nursing Home, McArthur, on Saturday, February 2, 2008. He was born January 10, 1916 in Wilkesville, son of the late James H. Steele and Millie Montgomery Steele. He was a Lineman for General Telephone Company, retiring following twenty seven years service and a U.S. Army Veteran, WW II.
Surviving are his wife, Gail Carpenter Steele and four children: Linda (John) Morgan, Wellston, Ohio; Nancy Steele, Wilkesville, Ohio; Judy (Jack) Yates, Logan, Ohio and Robert A. (Darlene) Steele, Sunbury, Ohio; seven grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and sister, Mary Stone, Pataskala, Ohio as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by three sisters Betty Norton, Dorothy Saunders and Katherine Irvin.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday February 6, 2008 at the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Vinton, with Pastor James Snyder officiating. Burial will be in the Vinton Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday 4:00-8:00 PM.
