Ronald Leland Petrie

Ronald "Buck" Leland Petrie, 68, Vinton, Ohio passed away Friday, January 1, 2016, in Pleasant Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Pt. Pleasant, West Virginia.  He was a 1965 graduate of North Gallia High School and had retired from Kyger Creek Power Plant in 2016, following more than twenty years of service.  He attended Fellowship Chapel Church of Vinton and also Vinton Baptist Church.

Ronald was born September 17, 1947 at Patriot, Ohio, son of the late Billie Leland Petrie and Jessie Coleman Petrie.  He married Denita J. "DeDee" Farmer May 16, 1970 at Wise, Virginia and she survives with two children:  Ronald (Kelly) Petrie, Chillicothe, Ohio and Tonya (Derek) Gibson, Vinton, Ohio; ten grandchildren: Caitlin, Kala, Caleb and Balen Petrie; Breanna and Dylan Lott; D.L., Noelle, and Gabrielle Gibson and one great-grandchild, Paislee Osborne; three brothers and a sister:  Larry Dean (Florence) Petrie, Vinton, Ohio; Billy (Jean) Petrie, Vinton, Ohio; Tim (Angie) Petrie, Gallipolis, Ohio and Glenna (Danny) Neal, Jackson, Ohio.

In addition to his parents Ronald was preceded in death by a sister, Sandra Sue Petrie.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 PM Monday, January 4, 2016 in the Vinton Baptist Church, 11818 SR 160, Vinton, Ohio with Rev. Heath Jenkins and Rev. Chester Hess officiating.  Burial will follow in the Vinton Memorial Park under the direction of the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Vinton, Ohio. Friends and family may call at the Vinton Baptist Church  Sunday, 5:00–8:00 PM.
