Rosanna Marie (Hoffman) Riggs

Rosanna Marie Turner Riggs, 88, Vinton, Ohio passed away Monday, January 4, 2016 at Holzer Assisted Living, Gallipolis, Ohio. She was a 1944 Rutland High School Graduate and was retired from The General Telephone Company, where she had been a telephone operator in Meigs, Gallia and Athens Counties for many years. Her memberships included the Porter United Methodist Church at Porter, Ohio, Vinton American Legion Auxiliary Post 161 and Vinton Chapter Order of Eastern Star 375 where she had served as Past Matron and Deputy Grand Matron District 24 in 1975. Marie enjoyed many hobbies including cooking, needle work, crocheting, and especially watching Kentucky Basketball and Nascar.
She was born July 12, 1927 in Meigs County, Ohio, daughter of the late Clarence Blair Hoffman and Gladys Marie Norton Hoffman. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husbands Everett Turner, Earl Riggs and Dean Riggs.
Marie is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Ronald Pool, Upper Sandusky, Ohio; grandchildren, Kimberly N. (Richard) Mason, Reynoldsburg, Ohio; Aaron (Emily) Pool, Bellefontaine, Ohio and four great-grandchildren: Brock and Brady Mason and Ryan and Katie Pool.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, January 9, 2016 at the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Vinton Chapel with Pastor Ann Forbes officiating. Burial will follow in the Vinton Memorial Park. Friends and family may call at the funeral home Friday 6:00–8:00 PM. Eastern Star Services will be conducted at 7:45 PM by the Vinton Chapter 375.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested a consideration of a donation to The American Cancer Society, 170 Jackson Pike, Gallipolis, Ohio 45631 in remembrance of Marie.
