Rosanna I. (Ward) Simmons

Rosanna I. Simmons, 78, Gallipolis, Ohio passed away Monday, May 12, 2014 at Holzer Assisted Living, Gallipolis. She was born September 27, 1935 in Middleport, Ohio, daughter of the late Wesley and Huldah (Brechtel) Ward. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church, Rodney, Ohio.

Rosanna married Charles Simmons, Gallipolis, September 29, 1957 in Columbus, Ohio who survives. She is also survived by a daughter, Debra Rosanna Simmons, Gallipolis, Ohio; three brothers, Charles (Carol) Ward, Florida; Keith (Connie) Ward, Louisville, Kentucky and Dale (Sue) Ward, Orlando, Florida; one sister, Karen (Tom) Spiess, Marysville, California; sister-in-law, Wilma Ward, Cincinnati, Ohio; brothers-in-law: Bill Darst, Cheshire, Ohio and John (Mary Ellen) Simmons, Jacksonville, Florida and many nieces, nephews and extended family.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a daughter, Diane Louise Simmons January 9, 2003; two sisters, Geraldine Swisher and Charlene Darst and brother, Wesley Ward.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM Friday, May 16, 2014 in the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Wetherholt Chapel, Gallipolis with Rev. Jim Lusher officiating. Burial will follow in Gravel Hill Cemetery, Cheshire, Ohio. Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday 6:00-8:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society, 444 Second Ave. Gallipolis, Ohio
