Ruby L. McGhee, 92, Gallipolis, Ohio passed away in Holzer Assisted Living Facility Monday, March 5, 2007. She was born August 22, 1914 in Vinton, daughter of the late John Milburn Hutchinson and Daisy Ellen Frederick Hutchinson. She married Walter Earl McGhee on April 19, 1941, at Bidwell, Ohio, and he preceded her in death on June 26, 2003.

She and her husband owned and operated a farm near Vinton for many years before moving to San Bernadino, California, where they made their home for more than forty years. She retired from the San Bernadino Community Hospital Food Service Department in 1977, and upon retirement, they moved to Gallia County. Ruby was a member of the Christ United Methodist Church, Gallipolis.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother and sister-in-law: John and Jessie Hutchinson; three sisters and two brothers-in-law: Dorothy Hutchinson, Reva and Wade Evans, Ruth Evans, B.B. "Bill" Matthews.

Surviving are a sister: Estivaun Matthews, Gallipolis; cousin, Marguerite Winters, Gallipolis; nieces and nephews she helped rear: Marilyn Long; Clyde (Rosemary) Evans; Mary (George) Evans; Connie Jan (Ken) Matre; Pennie Ann (Terry) Diveley, John "Sam" Matthews, Jack "Beep" (Cheryl) Matthews, Bob (Mary) Murphy, Mel Chamberlain; numerous great nieces and nephews; brother-in-law, Daniel Evans, Vinton.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, March 7, 2007 at the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Wetherholt Chapel, 420 First Ave, Gallipolis, with Rev. Alvis Pollard officiating. Burial will be in the Vinton Memorial Park.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday, 10:00-11:00 AM.
