Ruby I. Pelfrey

Ruby I. Pelfrey, 80, Vinton, Ohio passed away Friday, April 7, 2026, at St. Mary’s Hospital, Huntington, West Virginia. She was born in Cadmus, Ohio, February 26, 1946, to the late Thomas and Anise Bailey Daniels and attended Cadmus High School.

Ruby was a loving wife and mother. The light of her life was her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Those left behind to cherish her memory including her husband, of sixty-four years, Harvey David Pelfrey, their children: Steve (Michelle) Pelfrey, Panama City, Florida and Tammy Smith, Chillicothe, Ohio; grandchildren: Tosha (Vishall) Verma, Barboursville, West Virginia, Steve (Kristen) Pelfrey, Gallipolis, Ohio, Kristina (Zane) Whaley, Gallipolis, Ohio, Violet Pelfrey, Panama City Florida, Ciara (Patrick) Logan, Vinton, Ohio, Logan (McKenna) Layne, Chillicothe, Candra Gregory, Brent Pelfrey, both of Huntington, West Virginia and Chelsea Pelfrey, D.J. Pelfrey, both of Rio Grande, Ohio and eleven great-grandchildren. Also surviving is a sister, Rosie Swanson, Gallipolis, Ohio.

Those preceding Ruby in death is a son, Harvey David Pelfrey, Jr. and daughter, Mary Pelfrey Rawls; brothers: Gerald, Leo, Harold, Hobart and Junior Daniels and sister, Faye Coleman.

Graveside service will conducted at 12:45 PM, Friday, April 10, 2026, at Centenary Cemetery with Pastor Bob Hood officiating. Visitation with the family will be held Friday at the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Vinton Chapel, beginning at 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
