Russell D. Casto, Jr., 66, Bidwell, Ohio passed away at home October 17, 2010 after an extended illness. Born August 22, 1944 in Morgantown, West Virginia, son of the late Russell D. Casto, Sr. and Maxine Marie Mullins Casto who resided in Belle, West Virginia, Russell retired from AEP at the General James M. Gavin Plant September 1, 1999 with thirty-three years of service. Prior to his illness he attended the First Church of the Nazarene, Gallipolis and was also a former United Way Board Member, a former Volunteer Dispatcher for the Gallipolis City Police Department as well as a former member of the New Haven Volunteer Emergency Squad.
He is survived by his wife, Marjorie Sue Peck Casto and daughters: Tammy Renee Williamson (Kem) Thomas, North Ridgeville, Ohio; Laura Gail (William) Shelley, Latta, South Carolina; Lana Carol (Charles) Cox, Evans, Georgia; Melissa Dawn (Albert) DiDonato, Columbia Station, Ohio; Kendra Lynn (Charles) Sisia, Medina, Ohio; fourteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Also surviving is a sister, Nancy Kay (Roy) Siders, Belle, West Virginia and special friends, Clarence and Erika Robson. He was a foster parent to Andrew Williams of Gallipolis, Ohio.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant son, Christopher Michael Casto.
A Memorial service will be held 6:00 PM Thursday, October 21, 2010 in the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Wetherholt Chapel, Gallipolis with Rev. Gene Harmon officiating. Friends will be received Thursday from 4:00-6:00 PM.
