Shirley Potts Jr., 75, Vinton, Ohio passed away Thursday, December 25, 2008 at his residence. He was born October 10, 1933 in Clay City Kentucky, son of Mary Noble in Florida and the late Shirley Potts, Sr. He was a retired construction foreman and a U.S. Navy Veteran.
Surviving in addition to his mother Mary, are five children: Michael (Debbi) Potts, Dayton, Ohio; Russell (Angela) Potts, Patriot, Ohio; Mitchell (Konni) Potts, New Bern, North Carolina; Tammy (Tom) Cook, Bidwell, Ohio and Donna (Lester) Combs, Colloden, West Virginia; thirteen grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, one brother and two sisters: Raymond (Norma) Potts and Peggy Rohner, both of Florida and Wilma (Tom) DeLaney, Texas and two step-brothers.
In addition to his father he was preceded in death by his step father, Greene Noble and one sister, Gaildelee Potts.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Tuesday, December 30, 2008 at Powell's Valley Baptist Church in Clay City, Kentucky. Burial will follow in Powell's Valley Church Cemetery. Friends and family may call at the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, 208 Main St. Vinton Monday 4:00-7:00 PM.
