Shirley (Perry) Marcum

Shirley Marcum, 67, Vinton, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord at Ohio State University Hospital in Columbus, Ohio on March 1, 2010. She was born September 26, 1942 in West Virginia, daughter of Opal Perry of Vinton and the late Gaylord Perry. A 1960 graduate of Hamilton High School, Columbus, she worked as a hairdresser in Columbus before her employment at the Kroger Company, after which she spent 30 years of service before retiring from the Kroger Co. in Jackson, Ohio in 2002.

Shirley was married to Rob Marcum March 19, 1961 in Columbus, Ohio. In addition to her mother and husband, she is survived by three children: Sherry (Tim) Bosse, Kettering, Ohio; Keith (Drema) Marcum, Vinton, Ohio; and Barry (Carla) Marcum, Jackson, Ohio; seven grandchildren: Kristen, Gabriel, Brandi Jo, Blake, Andrea, Frank and Christina; five great-grandchildren: Rileigh, Tyler, Layne, Aiden and Cooper; brother, Darrell (Lil) Perry, Columbia, Tennessee; sister, Sue (Roger) Crum, Indianapolis, Indiana and several sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by brother Nelon Perry.

Funeral Services will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday, March 5, 2010 at Vinton Baptist Church, 11818 SR 160, Vinton, Ohio with Rev. Marvin Sallee officiating. Burial will follow in Vinton Memorial Park. Family and friends may call at the Vinton Baptist Church Thursday at 4:00-8:00 p.m. Arrangements are by McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Vinton Chapel.
