Thelma Rees, 88, Gallipolis, Ohio passed away Wednesday, July 2, 2003 at her residence following an extended illness. She was born May 14, 1915 at Champaign, Illinois, daughter of the late Robert and Oshel Woods Dabney. Thelma married Floyd Rees July 5, 1936 at Olive Hill, Kentucky and he preceded her in death June 2, 1995. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one sister and two brothers.

Mrs. Rees was employed by the Ohio Valley Bank for thirty years retiring in 1984 as an assistant vice president and manager of the Mini Bank. She was a member of Vinton Chapter Order of Eastern Star #375, White Shrine of Jerusalem, Gallipolis, the Gallipolis Business Professional and Women's Club, and Grace United Methodist Church, Gallipolis.

She is survived by daughter, Lynda and Terry Heaton, Northville, Michigan; son, Larry and Laura Rees, Westerville, Ohio; two grandchildren: Robert and Brandie Heaton, Pleasant Ridge, Michigan and Christopher and Meghan Heaton, Chicago, Illinois; two great-grandsons, Caleb and Noah Heaton; and sister-in-law, Faye Rees, Gallipolis, Ohio.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, July 5, 2003 in the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Wetherholt Chapel, Gallipolis with Pastor James Simms officiating. Burial will follow in Mound Hill Cemetery, Gallipolis. Friends may call at the funeral home Saturday, noon until time of service.
