Thelmer L. Wolford, 77, a retired truck driver, passed away Sunday, January 3, 2016 at his home in Thurman, Ohio. He was born September 22, 1938 in Pikeville, Kentucky to the late Don and Maudine Stevens Wolford.
Thelmer is survived by his wife of 25 years, Barbara Faye Gillispie Cox-Wolford, whom he married December 24, 1990. Also surviving are four daughters: Debra Wolford and Cindy Wolford, both of Vinton, Ohio; Gina (Brian) Harris and Terri (Zane) Colley, both of Porter, Ohio; three sisters: Ann (William) Hawks, Vinton, Ohio; Betty Fink, Bidwell, Ohio and Donna Brown, Porter, Ohio; four step-children: Debra Gloss, Gallipolis, Ohio; Lois Cox, Chillicothe, Ohio; Sherrie Cox, Oak Hill, Ohio and Jeff (Rhonda) Cox, Thurman, Ohio; fifteen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
Thelmer was a kind, loving man who enjoyed life and was always considerate with everyone. He loved God, all his family and friends, life, country music and his dog Goldie, who kept him company during his illness.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Thursday, January 7, 2016 at His Way Community Church in Vinton with Pastor Heath Jenkins officiating. Burial will follow in the Vinton Memorial Park. Friends may call at the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Vinton Chapel from 6:00-8:00 PM Wednesday.
