Thomas A. "Tom" Ragan

Thomas A. "Tom" Ragan, 80, of Bidwell, Ohio went to be with his Lord and Savior Thursday, September 2, 2021. He was born September 30, 1940 in Gallipolis, Ohio, son of the late Thomas E. and Florence (Roush) Ragan. On July 16, 1961, he was united in marriage to Marjory "Sue" Knight, who survives at their home after sixty wonderful years.

Tom worked for several years and retired from Bob Evans Farms as a meat processor and had a dairy farm for a period of time. He was known as a hard worker in all the tasks he performed. Tom enjoyed his family and his favorite things to do were to spend time with his kids and grandkids, with whom he shared a special bond with each of them. Tom was a member of Vinton Baptist Church for many years where he served as a Deacon, as well as a Trustee. He has enjoyed all his time at Vinton Baptist Church with all of the wonderful friends that God has blessed him with.

In addition to his wife, Sue, those left to cherish his memory are their sons: Thomas Victor Ragan, Pomeroy, Ohio and Russell Todd (Kara) Ragan, Bidwell, Ohio; grandchildren: Dillon (Alivia) Ragan, Columbus, Ohio; Austin (Mya) Ragan, Cedarville, Ohio; Lauren, Ian, Judson and Nolan Ragan, all of Bidwell, Ohio as well as two sisters, Joan Stewart of Xenia, Ohio and Betty (Buzz) Call of Gallipolis, Ohio. He also has several wonderful nephews and nieces, that have been a blessing to him.

Along with his parents, Tom is preceded in death by one sibling, Paul Ragan, formerly of Wellston, Ohio.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, September 6, 2021 at Vinton Baptist Church, 11818 State Route 160, Vinton Ohio with Austin Ragan officiating. Burial will follow at Vinton Memorial Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the church beginning 1:00 PM until the time of service.
