Verlie (Workman) Smith

Verlie Smith, 86, Bidwell, passed away March 25, 2009 at Four Winds Nursing Center in Jackson. She was born November 17, 1922 in Logan, West Virginia to the late Shade and Ethel Mullins Workman. Verlie spent her life as a housewife and attended Deer Creek Freewill Baptist Church.
She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Ward (Connie) Smith, Bidwell; two grandchildren, Robin (John) Sayre, Pt. Pleasant, West Virginia and Misty (Heath) Denney, Bidwell; four great-grandchildren, two sisters: Birdie (Kenneth) Robinson and Garnet (Frank) Hensley, all of West Virginia.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Smith, February 23, 1990; son, Ozie Smith, an infant son and daughter, six brothers, and one sister.
Graveside services will be held 12:00 Noon Friday March 27, 2009 in Vinton Memorial Park with Brother Mickey Maynard officiating. Burial will follow.
