Vernena E. (Jones) Addis

Vernena E. Addis, 98, Gallipolis, Ohio went to her heavenly home April 13, 2009. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother.
Vernena was born April 19, 1911 in Proctorville, Ohio, daughter of the late Arnold Murdoch and Ethel Taylor Murdoch Jones. She married Millard F. Addis January 21, 1928 in Ironton, Ohio. To this union was born two daughters: Lyndall L. (James) Riedel, Leesburg, Florida and Joyce A. (Robert) Thomas, Gallipolis, Ohio.
Also surviving are grandchildren: Debbie (Ronnie) Smith and Eric L. Thomas, both of Gallipolis; Joyce Phillips, Springfield, Ohio; Michael Riedel, Palm Bay, Florida; Barbara (David) Mellott, Leesburg, Florida and James (Ann) Riedel, Auburn, Alabama; fourteen great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren, many dear nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded by her step-father, William Jones, beloved husband and companion of 65 years, Millard, brother Wilford Murdoch and half brother William Russell Jones.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Friday, April 17, 2009 at the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Wetherholt Chapel, Gallipolis with Rev. Isaac Shupe officiating. Burial will follow in the Ohio Valley Memory Gardens, Gallipolis. Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday April 16, 2009 from 6:00-8:00 PM.
