Virgil Stanley Green, 94, Cheshire, Ohio passed away Thursday, November 1, 2007 at Holzer Medical Center, Gallipolis. He was born September 25, 1913 at Gallia County, Ohio, son of the late Dan and Ida Mae Rice Green. He was a 1933 graduate of Cadmus High School and a retired, self employed farmer and bus driver for the Gallia County Local Schools where he was employed for 18 years. Virgil also retired from the Gallipolis Developmental Center in 1975. He married Mildred Saunders Green October 28, 1933 at Gallipolis, and she preceded him in death October 1, 2004.
He is survived by daughter, Ruth Ann and William Curfman Jr., Cheshire, Ohio; son, Richard and Brittina Green, Bidwell, Ohio; six grandchildren: Danny Green, Gallipolis; Sherman (Susan) Green, Gallipolis; Amy (Barry) Plymale, Bidwell, Ohio; Allen Green, Bidwell; Scott (Angie) Curfman, Gallipolis; Christy (Craig) Richards, Gallipolis; twelve great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren
In addition to his wife, he was preceded by a son, Raymond Green, January 1, 1993 and a grandson, Adam Green, October 28, 1978.
Virgil was a member of Olive Methodist Church, Cadmus, Ohio.
Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM Sunday November 4, 2007 at the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Wetherholt Chapel, Gallipolis, with Pastors Steve Little and David Saunders officiating. A Eulogy will be given by Deacon Barry Plymale. Burial will follow in the Olive Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home 5:00-8:00 PM Saturday, November 3, 2007.
