Warren J. Salisbury, 86, Gallipolis, passed away Monday October 8, 2007 at his home. He was born November 3, 1920 in Clay County, West Virginia, son of the late Sherman H. Salisbury and Alma Evans Salisbury.
Warren was a 1941 graduate of Cadmus High School, a retired Paint Shop Supervisor at the Gallipolis Development Center, and also a self employed painter who painted many homes in Gallipolis and the surrounding communities. He was member of French City Baptist Church, Gallipolis, a member of Carpenters for Christ, Buckeye Baptist Builders and a Kentucky Colonel. Warren was a very loving Husband and Father.
Warren is survived by his wife of 35 years, Dora McFarland Russell; six children: Dale (Brenda) Salisbury , Gallipolis; Don (Barbara) Salisbury, Boise, Idaho; Cheryl Salisbury, Gallipolis; Daryl (Gloria) Salisbury, Gallipolis; Steve (Shirley) Salisbury, Gallipolis; Dennis (Karen) Salisbury, Gallipolis; a step-daughter, Debbie (Clark) Baker, South Carolina; twelve grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and four step grandchildren; two brothers and one sister, Harold (Naomi) Salisbury, Columbus, Alden (Alice) Salisbury, Patriot and Lois (Jim) Blair, Gallipolis; and special care givers, Joe Lawrence, Lillian Rose and Marie Harrison all of Gallipolis.
In addition to his parents Warren was preceded in death by three brothers, Noah, Vernon and Sherman Salisbury and two sisters, Inis Corbin and Ruby Dinsmore.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM Thursday, October 11, 2007 in the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Wetherholt Chapel, Gallipolis with Pastor Ralph Workman officiating. Burial will follow in Centenary Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday October 10, 2007 5:00-8:00 PM. Pallbearers will be Adam Salisbury, Aaron Salisbury, Garrison Salisbury, James Bush, Joe Lawrence and Lloyd Danner. Honorary Pallbearers will be Troy Salisbury, Chris Salisbury, Don Denny, Walter Rose and Mark Williams.
