Willa Mae (Nutter) Spencer

Willa Mae Spencer, 81, Vinton, passed away at her residence surrounded by her family Wednesday, June 9, 2010. She was born November 13, 1928 in Phelps, Kentucky, daughter of the late Tom New and Lena Blackburn New-Nutter.

She married Stanley Spencer on October 7, 1954, and he preceded her in death on February 3, 1970. In addition to her husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Timmy Perry; a sister and two brothers: Patricia Haybin, Tom and Leonard New; and sons-in-law: Wayne Osborne, James P. Gilbert and Jackie Farley.

Willa was a loving mother and homemaker and is survived by seven daughters and three sons: Judy Osborne, Columbus, Ohio; Buddy (Barbara Young) Francis, Phelps, Kentucky; Betty (Leamon) Mullins, Metter, Georgia; Linda (Terry) Farley, Vinton, Ohio; Sheila (Garry Pratt) Gilbert, Bidwell, Ohio; Donna (Carl) Perry, Thurman, Ohio; Barbara (Gary Seymour) Spencer, Holiday, Florida; Jerri Gilbert, Vinton, Ohio; Stanley Jr.(Mary) Spencer, Moneta, Virginia; Daniel (Kimberly) Spencer, Vinton, Ohio; twenty-nine grandchildren, thirty-three great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Also, three brothers and two sisters: James (Della) New, Maynardsville, Tennessee; Jack New, Columbus, Ohio; Thurman (Donna) New, Columbus, Ohio; Bobbie Coleman, Phelps, Kentucky; Bonnie Moore, Vinton, Ohio; a special sister-in-law, Marie (Szabo) New, Livonia, Michigan and a special nephew, Shane Spencer, Gallipolis, Ohio.

In accordance with her wishes, her body was cremated. Memorial services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, June 12, 2010 in the Harvestime Worship Center, Vinton, with Rev. David Marcum officiating. Arrangements are by McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Vinton Chapel.
