William O. "Bill" Barnett

William O. "Bill" Barnett, 93, Gallipolis, Ohio passed away Wednesday, July 16, 2003. Bill was born June 28, 1910 on Bee Branch Creek near Hamlin, West Virginia. He was the youngest of ten children of the late John Anderson (America Salmon) Barnett. He married the late Buelah Inez Burns Barnett September 24, 1932 in Hamlin, West Virginia.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his daughter Barbara Lou (Barnett) Shoemaker and his son William Junior Barnett.
He will be greatly missed by his children, Imogene (Walter) White, Rodney; Joyce Rogers, Gallipolis; Roger (Barbara) Barnett, Gallipolis; Larry (Carol) Barnett, Gallipolis and daughter-in-law, Ann Barnett, Crown City. He was a special grandfather to his seventeen grandchildren: Brenda (Songer) Haas, Debbie White, Billy Songer, Danny Songer, Steve Shoemaker, Mark White, Cindy (Shoemaker) Hunt, Lori (Songer) Bolsby, Mary (Rogers) Reidel, Daphene (Barnett) Lawrence, Brian Rogers, Andrea (Barnett) Stout, Ronnie Rogers, Bobby Rogers, Courtney (Barnett) Rogers, Kevin Barnett, and Nicholas Barnett. He was a great-grandfather to twenty-one great-grandchildren: Kyle and Corey; Erick, Betty and Matthew; Joseph, Amber and Ashlee; Kimberly; Mikki; Cody; Andrew; Tobias, Ashley and Casey; Jessica, Alexandria and Katie; Jayden; Logan and Lacie. He was a great-great-grandfather to one great-great-grandchild: Devon.
Visitation will be Sunday July 20 from 5:00-7:00 PM at the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, First Avenue, Gallipolis, Ohio. Services will be Monday July 21 at 11:00 AM at the funeral home.
