William Eugene "Bill" Patton, 54, Bidwell, Ohio, passed away at the home of his sister, Priscilla and Michael Neville, Bidwell, early Thursday morning. He was born March 9, 1952 in Charleston, West Virginia, son of the late William Jarrel Patton and Edna Mae Townsend. He was reared in the home of the late Darus and Jewel Scragg.
In addition to his sister, Priscilla, he is survived by another sister, Torona Hash, Vinton, Ohio. Also surviving are nephews: Jason Burdette, Vinton and Zachary (Carolee) Stanley, Crown City, Ohio who was reared in Bill's home, and Jarrod Hash, US Navy, Japan; two nieces: Ashley and Alison Neville; four great-nephews: Blake and Haiden Burdette; Brennen Criswell and Brycen William Stanley.
He was a Vietnam War Army Veteran. Even though he was a paraplegic since the age of twenty-nine, he remained up-beat and out-going. Moreover, he was an avid outdoorsman and sports enthusiast who loved country music.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Monday in the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Vinton, with Rev. Eddie Patterson officiating. Burial will be in the Painter Cemetery, Sissonville, West Virginia. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday 3:00-5:00 PM.
