William Orville Sexton, 90, Kerr, Ohio, passed away January 19, 2011 at Holzer Medical Center in Gallipolis. He was born September 22, 1920 to the late Ross and Lola (Kemper) Sexton. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Amy Arizona Drummond, whom he married on November 18, 1949 in Evergreen, Ohio. He was a World War II Army Veteran, a member of the Pomeroy Carpenters Union since 1949, and a member of Trinity United Methodist Church of Porter, Ohio. He was a long time resident of Kerr, as well as an avid gardener, hunter and handyman.
In addition to his wife, Orville is survived by two sons, Rick (Cindy) Sexton, Bidwell, Ohio and Ron (fiancé Martha Bevans) Sexton, Kerr, Ohio; three grandchildren: Shawn (Chris) Sexton, Gallipolis; Lorie (Matt) Cremeans, Vinton; and Jamie (James) Pratt, Thurman; four great-grandchildren: Christopher Sexton, Joey Sexton, Jaden Sexton and Grace Ann Cremeans; three sisters: Elizabeth Mitchell and Peggy Sexton, both of Bidwell, Ohio and Betty Boyer, Monaca, Pennsylvania; a brother, John Sexton, Bidwell, Ohio; sisters-in-law, Opal (Charles) Barcus and Nancy Warren, both of Eureka and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two sisters: Annie Fillinger and Dorothy Drummond and two brothers, Jim and June Sexton.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, January 22, 2011 at 11:00 AM in the Trinity United Methodist Church, Porter, Ohio with Rev. John Wood and Rev. David Young officiating. Friends and family may call at the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home 420 First Ave, Gallipolis, Friday, January 21, 2011 from 4:00 - 7:00 PM. Burial will follow at the Pine Street Cemetery, Gallipolis with Full Military Graveside Rites conducted by Gallia County Veterans Funeral Detail.
