Winnie Lucille (Johnson) Howard

Winnie Lucille Howard, 77, of Gallipolis, Ohio passed away Friday, May 23, 2025, in the Arbors of Gallipolis Facility. Winnie was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico, October 6, 1947.

Winnie was employed for many years as the Manager of the former Big Lots Stores before retiring. She married Edward E. "Deacon" Howard, who preceded her in death October 15, 2022.

She will be greatly missed by their children: Crystelle (Keith) Sanders, Chesapeake, Ohio and Edward E. Howard II, Burlington, Vermont; grandchildren: Autumn N. Oden and Nathaniel Sanders, both of South Point, Ohio; Lucreshia Howard, Pomeroy, Ohio; Jordan Howard, Wellston, Ohio; Moriah Howard, Hillard, Ohio and Candace Hart, Raleigh, North Carolina as well as ten great-grandchildren.

Also missing Winnie are her siblings: Charles Lee Johnson, Waynesboro, Pennsylvania; Frank Dozier, Michael Lonnie Dozier, Fred Lee Dozier, Gloria Dozier-McKinney, Lorraine Pierce, all of Dallas, Texas; Pastor George L. (Felicia) Lyons, Carson, California and stepmother, Mary Johnson, Los Angeles, California as well as a host of brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law from the Howard Family, many nieces, nephews and extended family members.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her father, Lindon Johnson and brothers Preston Prince Johnson, Sr., Robert Lyons and Gregory Joe Fletcher.

Graveside services will be held at 12:00 Noon Tuesday, May 27, 2025, in the Pine Street Cemetery, Gallipolis, Ohio with Pastor Joe Bowers officiating. The McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Wetherholt Chapel, is honored to serve the Howard Family.
