Zane Lewis Schoonover

Zane Lewis Schoonover, 30, Syracuse, New York (formerly of Bidwell, Ohio) passed away Tuesday, April 16, 2019. He was born October 20, 1988 in Gallipolis, Ohio, son of Robin (Rider) Schoonover, Bidwell, Ohio and the late David Schoonover. Zane was 2007 graduate of Gallia Academy High School and a U.S. Army Veteran, earning the rank of E-5 Sergeant, serving two tours in Iraq.

He is survived by his mother, Robin; son, Peyton; brother, Zac Schoonover, Portsmouth, Ohio; sister, Sarah Schoonover, Huntington, West Virginia and maternal grandparents, Don and Carolyn Rider, Portsmouth, Ohio.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by paternal grandparents Bobby and Frances Schoonover.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 PM Tuesday, April 23, 2019 in the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Wetherholt Chapel, Gallipolis with Pastor Denny Coburn officiating. Burial will follow in the Ohio Valley Memory Gardens, Gallipolis. Full Military Graveside Rites to be conducted by the Gallia County Veterans Funeral Detail. Friends and family may call at the funeral home Tuesday 12:00 Noon to the time of service.
