Billy "Donnie" Donald Smith

Billy Donald “Donnie” Smith, 71, Bidwell, Ohio passed away Monday, September 19, 2022 in the Holzer Medical Center Emergency Room, Gallipolis, Ohio. Donnie was born April 5, 1951 at Huntington, West Virginia, son of the late Virgil Eugene and Ruth Eloise (Buskirk) Smith. A United States Marine Corp Veteran, he was a construction worker by trade.

He is survived by sons, William (Betty) Smith, Bidwell and Mark Smith, Columbus, Ohio; grandchildren: Megan and Logan Smith, Tyler (Brytney) Acevedo, Nicolas (Morgan) Smith, Alexis Smith and Rhyslee Boles; great-grandchildren: Bella and Sofia; brothers, Ronnie B. (Carolyn) Harvey, Zephyr Hills, Florida; Robert (Lillian) Smith, Gallipolis, Ohio and Rick (Sandy) Smith, Middletown, Ohio; sisters, Rose Jane England, Spartanburg, South Carolina; Beverly Kuhn and Angie Price, both of Bidwell, Ohio.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded by his wife, Joyce Canaday Smith; brothers, Richard, Charles and Jack Smith and sisters, Marianne Beauseau and Betty Jo Elliott.

Burial will be 12:00 PM Saturday, October 1, 2022 with Full Military Graveside Rites in Tyn Rhos Cemetery, Thurman, Ohio. Cremation services are under the direction of the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Wetherholt Chapel, Gallipolis, Ohio. In accordance with Donnie’s wishes, there will be no visitation or viewing held.
