Carol Sue (Carpenter) Kemper

Carol Sue Carpenter-Ward-Kemper, 70, Vinton, Ohio went home to be with her Lord Monday, September 18, 2023. She was born September 27, 1952 in Montgomery, West Virginia, the daughter of the late Miles Carpenter and Pauline Baker Carpenter. 

Those left behind to cherish her memory are daughter and son-in-law that she loved more than anything, Peggy (Roger) Shadwick, Vinton, Ohio; granddaughter, Cyndal (Brad) Smith, Vinton, Ohio; grandson, Derrick (Amber) Shadwick; eight great-grandchildren: Carson, Addison, Keldon, Cayden, Keira, Skylyn, Ethan and Stella, all of Vinton, Ohio; two sisters, Joyce (Roscoe) Ward and Mary (Jonathan) Preston, both of Vinton, Ohio; aunt, Garnet Barnett, South Carolina; sister-in-law, Tina Carpenter, Vinton, Ohio and several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends and a special dog, Dory.

In addition to her parents Carol was preceded in death by her brothers  Bob Baker, Bill Carpenter, Frank Carpenter, Rick Carpenter and Roy Carpenter.

The family would like to extend special thanks to her two hospice nurses, Danielle and Bree. Her primary caretakers and solid rocks through life go to her two special sisters, Mary and Joyce.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Friday, September 22, 2023 at the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Vinton Chapel, with Pastor David Greer officiating.  Burial will follow at Mt. Tabor Cemetery, Vinton, Ohio.  Family and friends may call on the family Thursday, September 21, 2023 at the funeral home from 6:00 to 9:00 PM.
