Obituary
Celia Varney, 78, passed away Saturday, August 12, 2023 in the Ohio State University Hospital, Columbus, Ohio. She was born February 12, 1945 in Pike County, Kentucky, daughter of the late Roy and Omey Ward Varney.
Celia is survived by son, Richard Lee Lester and daughter, Cecelia Rosemarie (David) Miller; brothers, Hazert Varney and Verlin Varney and sister, Lurlie (Arthur) Risso as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.
She was preceded in death by brothers Rosco, Floyd, Lee and Robert Varney and by sisters, Roma Hewlett, Vicie Varney, Creasid Hewlett, Naomi Blackburn, and Quellie Esposito.
Celia loved her family, her beloved dog Boo and “Music Night” at McCoy’s One Stop.
Funeral services will be held in the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Vinton Chapel, 1:00 PM Thursday, August 17, 2023 with Patrick Gampp officiating. Burial will follow in the Vinton Memorial Park. Family and friends may call at the funeral home Thursday 12:00–1:00 PM.
