Dorothy Lucile (Hersman) Dodrill

Dorothy Lucile Dodrill, 95 of Vinton, Ohio passed away Tuesday March 22, 2022 in the Holzer Medical Center, Gallipolis, Ohio. She was born April 22, 1926 in Powell, Ohio, daughter of the late Rev. John H. Hersman and Beulah (Bright) Hersman. She was a homemaker and a member of Ewington Church of Christ in Christian Union.

Dorothy married Rev. Darrell George Dodrill February 6, 1943 and he preceded her in death May 20, 1996. To this union were born four children: Marilyn Pavlovsky, Bonnaire, Georgia; Marvin (Debbie) Dodrill, Connie Valentine and Dennis (Ginger) Dodrill, all of Vinton, Ohio; numerous grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and one great-great granddaughter. Also surviving are sisters-in-law, Mae Hersman, Marion, Ohio and Wanda Reagan, Columbus, Ohio.

In addition to her parents and husband, Dorothy was preceded in death by granddaughter, Keli Y. Dodrill, great-grandsons: Levi Dodrill and Dillon Adkins; brothers, John Hersman, Eugene M. Hersman, and James “Jim’ R. Hersman abd  sisters-in-law, Eva and Erma Hersman.

Funeral services will be conducted 12:00 PM Saturday, March 26, 2022 in the Ewington Church of Christ in Christian Union with Pastor David Marhoover officiating. Burial will follow in Vinton Memorial Park. Friends may call at the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Vinton Chapel, Friday 5:00 P.M.- 7:00 PM.
