Gary "Pat" Skidmore Obituary

Gary Patrick “Pat” Skidmore, 77, Gallipolis, Ohio died Thursday, December 8, 2022 in the Ohio State University Medical Center, Columbus, Ohio. Pat was born September 30, 1945 in Springfield, Ohio, son of the late Kermit Paul and Emma Lucille (Sprague) Skidmore. A United States Army Veteran, he was a faithful active member of Rio Grande Church of Christ and Skyview Church of Christ, Pinellas Park, Florida.

Pat was an avid Harley rider – especially riding his Harley on the Blue Ridge Parkway and going through Tennessee with his wife, Karen. He was a life member of Gallipolis HOG Club. He enjoyed Florida and the many beaches – Pat loved traveling and the many adventures these trips provided. Mostly, he was a loving and devoted husband to Karen, whom he married December 30, 1993 in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, who survives at home.

Also missing Pat are his children: Lori Skidmore and Jeremy Skidmore, both of Gallipolis; additional children: Chris (Brandi) Rathburn, Kim (Randy) Canaday and Jeff (Danielle) Rathburn, all of Gallipolis; grandchildren: Bryonna Skidmore, Eli Miller, James Armstrong, McKenzie, Blake and Ashlee Skidmore, Clay Plymale, Briar Williams, Brailee Rathburn, Braylan Rathburn, Ashley Brooke (Beau) Harrison, Tyler Wade (Rosie) Canaday, Lindsey Kirsten Canaday, Shantelle (Nathan) Rimmey, Emma Rathburn and Jack Rathburn. Great-grandchildren surviving include Brady, Brock, Blake, Bailey and Brant Harrison, Ariott Stone, Skylar Moreland, Kayson Wyatt Canaday, Brielle and Emmitt Rimmey and Bransyn Skidmore; brother, John (Margie) Skidmore, Ft. Payne, Alabama; former daughter-in-law, Kristen Ward, Gallipolis and several nieces, nephews and extended family members.

In accordance with Gary’s wishes, Cremation services are under the direction of the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Wetherholt Chapel, Gallipolis, Ohio who is honored to serve the Skidmore Family. A Celebration of Life will be announced at the convenience of the family.
