Obituary

James Roger “Jim” Bowen, 69, Vinton, Ohio passed away Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at O’Bleness Hospital, Athens, Ohio. He was born May 4, 1952 in Calf Creek, Kentucky to the late Charles and Betty Jean Ellis Bowen. 

Jim is survived by his children:  Michael (Shellie) McClaskey, Gallipolis, Ohio; Shawn (Kristie Preston) McClaskey and James Ryan Bowen, both of Vinton, Ohio; grandchildren: Taylor and Brooklynn Bowen, Michael and Tiffany McClaskey; great-grandchildren, Braxton and Layne McClaskey; brothers, Mark (Tina) Bowen, Waterloo, Ohio and Charles (Mildred) Bowen, Vinton, Ohio and sisters:  Rita Cook, Reeda Bowen, both of Vinton, Ohio, Ruth Bowen, Thurman, Ohio and Mary Lou Henderson, North Carolina.

In addition to his parents Jim was preceded in death by brother, Charles Matthew Bowen and sister Juanita Olive Oiler.

Funeral service will be held 12:00 PM Monday, January 31, 2022 at the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Vinton Chapel, with Pastor Randy Patterson officiating. Burial will follow in the Bowen Family Cemetery, Vinton Ohio. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 11:00 AM to the time of service.
