Jeannine Marie (Evans) Cunningham

Jeannine Marie Cunningham, 92, Gallipolis, Ohio passed away Saturday, June 12, 2021. She was born November 19, 1928 in Pomeroy, Ohio, daughter of the late Arthur and Bernice (Arnold) Evans. She was the eldest child in a large family with eight siblings. She married John A. Cunningham who preceded her in death September 26, 2002.

Jeannine graduated from the Holzer School of Nursing in 1949 and was employed as a Registered Nurse for many years. Her final career path was her most fulfilling, as a teacher of the Senior Diversified Health Occupations Class at Buckeye Hills Career Center, where she prepared students for careers in health care.

She is survived by sons, John S. (Terri) Cunningham, Gallipolis, Ohio and Mark Cunningham, Cornelius, North Carolina. She was blessed with four very special grandchildren: Sarah (Beau) Sang, Kelsey (Wezley) Barnard, Alex (Elizabeth) Cunningham and Hannah (Chuck) Calvert and her great grandchildren, who she cherished greatly: Jack, Will, Ruby and Theo. Also surviving are four siblings: Frances (Don) Hunnel, Pomeroy, Ohio; Arnold (Margie) Evans, Palmerston North, New Zealand; Jenny Warth, Manteo, North Carolina and Andrea Evans, Portage, Michigan.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by son, Jim Cunningham, and siblings: Jimmy Evans, Terry Evans, Carol Ohlinger and Mike Evans.

Most recently Jeannine resided at Holzer Assisted Living in Gallipolis where she was blessed to have the exceptional care and dedication of the staff. The Family would like to thank the caregivers who supported her in the final years of her life.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family with Entombment in the Ohio Valley Memory Gardens. The McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Wetherholt Chapel, Gallipolis is honored to serve the Cunningham Family.
