John A. Howard

John A. Howard, 92, Bidwell, Ohio passed away in Holzer Senior Care, Bidwell, Ohio Friday, December 17, 2020. He retired from Kaiser Aluminum of Ravenswood, West Virginia after more than thirty-five years and was a U.S. Army Veteran. He attended several community churches including New Hope Baptist Church at Bidwell and Corinth Baptist Church at Centerpoint, Ohio.  He served on various Community Action committees and other Civic organizations. He was a past president of Southeastern Ohio Branch of NAACP, where he served for more than twenty years.

John was born August 21, 1928 in Gallia County, Ohio son of the late Charles Howard and Mary Elizabeth Hutchinson Howard. He is survived by brothers William (Jackie) Howard of Bidwell, Ohio, Clarence (Judy) Howard of Dayton, Ohio and sister Hazel (Frank) Young of Dayton, Ohio as well as a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and great-great nephews.   

John was preceded in death by brothers Charles and James Howard, sisters Margaret Boling, Dorothy Gordon, Marianna Morgan and an infant sister.

Graveside services will be held 12:00 P.M. Tuesday, December 22, 2020 in the New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery, Bidwell, Ohio with Rev. Calvin Minnis officiating. The McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Wetherholt Chapel is honored to serve the Howard Family during this difficult time.
