Lonnie Robert Jordan, 80, formerly of Thurman, Ohio passed away Saturday, December 23, 2023 at Holzer Senior Care. He was born February 1, 1943 in Gallia County, son of the late Seaford Moses Jordan and Martha Easter (Preston) Jordan. Lonnie married Shirley Ann Vance on June 26, 1982, and she preceded him in death on August 22, 2020.
Lonnie was a friendly and familiar face for many people in Gallia, Jackson, Lawrence and Vinton Counties, as he delivered propane gas to many customers through the decades for Jordan’s Gas Service. Lonnie also deeply enjoyed collecting and relating stories of life’s challenges, hardships and triumphs from years past. Lonnie was an attendee of French City Baptist Church.
Lonnie is survived by a brother, Len Eugene Jordan, Gallipolis, Ohio and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and his wife, Lonnie was preceded in death by his sisters, Maxie Irene Camden and Shirley Anna Terry and a brother, Seaford Marlin Jordan.
Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 PM Thursday, December 28, 2023 in the The French City Baptist Church, Gallipolis, Ohio with Pastors Kevin Terry and James Patrick officiating. Burial will follow in Old Pine Cemetery, Rio Grande, Ohio. Family and friends may call at the church Thursday beginning at 12:00 PM to the time of service.
