Margie Eleanor (Mullins) Cook

We are devastated to announce the passing of Margie Eleanor Cook, 86, Vinton, Ohio. She passed away Sunday, October 15, 2023 at Overbrook Nursing Home, Middleport, Ohio surrounded by her family following a lengthy, hard fought battle with dementia. She was born June 23, 1937 to the late William Dewey and Flossie (Elkins) Mullins. Margie married Lew Gene Cook and he preceded her in death. She was a member of Little Pearl Old Regular Baptist Church, Vinton, Ohio. 

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Christine (Bryan) Seagraves and Suzetta Gibbs, both of Vinton, Ohio; grandchildren: Christina (David) Carey, Cheshire, Ohio, Brietta (Scott) Hunt, Centerville, Ohio, Bryan (Jennifer) Seagraves, Jackson, Ohio, Deanna Spencer, Vinton, Ohio, Debbie (Ronnie) Shadwick, Bidwell, Ohio and A. J. (Kayla Nottingham) Spencer, Vinton, Ohio; great-grandchildren: Travis Polcyn, Austin Farley, Cassidy Oiler, Mason Carey, Ethan and Bryson Ball, Robert Marcum, Alexia Fitzwater, Brandon Stickle, Jaiden Shadwick, Ely and Brooklyn Peoples, Meghan and Bryan Seagraves and Natalie, Lena and Cree Spencer; great-great-grandchildren: Waylyn Moore and Luca and Waverly Carpenter; brother, Robert Allen (Patricia) Mullins, Mississippi and a special friend, Karen Johnson-Smith.

In addition to her parents and husband, Margie was preceded in death by great-granddaughter, Erin Nicole Rutherford; brothers, Vester, Arlie, Gene, Donald and Leamon Mullins; sisters, Dorothy Polly, Darlene Palmer, Opal Reynolds and Ival Mae Mullins and son-in-law, Joe Gibbs.

Funeral services will be held 12:00 PM Friday, October 20, 2023 at the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Vinton Chapel. Family and friends may call at the funeral home 10:00 AM to the time of service. Burial will follow at Vinton Memorial Cemetery, Vinton, Ohio.
