Mary Josephine (Bunch) Cordell

Mary Josephine (Bunch) Cordell, 89, Bidwell, Ohio passed away Saturday, September 11, 2021 at Holzer Medical Center, Gallipolis, Ohio. She was born in Bidwell, Ohio November 15, 1931 to the late Elijah and Rebecca Jenkins Bunch. Mary was married to Johnnie Dotson Sr. and Alfred Cordell, Sr., both preceding her in death.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her children: Johnnie (Brenda) Dotson, James Dotson, Dinah (Charles) Peck, Celia Peck, Janice (David) Boyd, Terry (Joseph) Loyd, Rebecca Dotson, Alfred (Karen) Cordell and Michael Cordell; special friends: Krissy Glassburn, Veneita Miller, Polly Minnis, Janie Peck and Janice James; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren as well as nieces, nephews and extended family.

In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by son, David Eugene Dotson; grandson, Jonathan Dotson; sister, Lena Garnes; brother, James Bunch; son-in-law, William Peck and special friends: Luella Henry, Greg James and Clara Borden.

Funeral services will be held 3:00 P.M. Thursday, September 16, 2021 at the Paint Creek Baptist Church with Pastor Calvin Minnis and Pastor Christian Scott officiating. Burial will follow at Morgan Bethel Cemetery without procession from the church. Family and friends may call at the church from 1:00 P.M. until the time of service.
