Mary “Beth” Adkins, 39, Gallipolis, Ohio passed away suddenly Thursday, July 14, 2022. The daughter of Janet (Scales) Baldwin, Gallipolis, Ohio and the late Lacy C. Baldwin, Sr., Beth was born December 4, 1982 in Champaign, Illinois. A graduate of the Gallia Academy High School Class of 2001, she went to Marshall University, Huntington, West Virginia, graduating Magna Cum Laude in 2007 with a Degree in Sociology. Beth married Michael Bradley “Brad” Adkins, Huntington, West Virginia, who survives.
A quick witted, beautiful and intelligent lady, Beth was the co-owner of Once Again Consignment Shop, Gallipolis, who beside her mother built the business that recently celebrated their 20 Year Anniversary. Beth saw beauty in anything “vintage” and she and her mom spent hours thrifting for those special finds that may have otherwise been looked over or forgotten. A self-proclaimed “Punk Rock Girl”, she loved punk rock and heavy metal music, art, her tattoos – each an expression of that art she chose -and was an avid reader. Beth was always smiling as she welcomed her patrons at the store – where she could usually be found among the racks of clothes working or talking to one of the many customers. She loved her family fiercely – and that included “her girls” that worked in the shop.
Beth’s memory will be cherished by her mother and best friend, Janet as well as her brothers: Neil Baldwin, Plant City, Florida; Frank (Misty) Baldwin, Newport News, Florida and Paul (Michelle) Baldwin, Savannah, Georgia; her beloved nephews and nieces: Nikki Baldwin, Aidan Baldwin, Madison Atkins, Evan Baldwin, Parker Baldwin, Piper Baldwin, Ally Baldwin, Brooklyn Baldwin, Tommy Baldwin, Katie Baldwin and Ella Baldwin as well as many extended family members and many friends.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her brother, Lacy C. Baldwin, Jr. and beloved fur baby, Pup.
A Gathering of Friends will be conducted 5:00-8:00 PM Tuesday, July 26, 2022 in the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Wetherholt Chapel, Gallipolis, Ohio.
