Maudine P. (Morrison) Minnis

Maudine P. Minnis, 77 of Bidwell, Ohio went home to be with the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Thursday, July 7, 2022 at Grant Medical Center, Columbus, Ohio. She was born January 23, 1945 in Taylorsville, North Carolina to the late Carl L. Morrison and Melvia Howell Morrison. 

Maudine married Rev. Calvin Minnis May 22, 1971 and had celebrated 53 happy years. Rev. Minnis is Pastor of the Corinth Missionary Baptist Church, Oak Hill, Ohio and she served as First Lady of Corinth Missionary Baptist Church with him for 43 years. She retired from the Gallipolis Developmental Center following 25 years of employment. She was a member of Evening Stars Women’s Chapter. She loved word search, crossword puzzles, reading the daily paper, watching her favorite game shows and old TV Westerns such as “The Lone Ranger” as well as cooking and shopping at Wal-Mart.

She is survived by her husband, Rev. Calvin L. Minnis of Bidwell, Ohio; stepson, Calvin “Cisco” Minnis of Vinton, Ohio; step-grandchildren, Brittani Minnis and Tarra (Timothy) Wolfe; several step-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, friends and loved ones as well as a loving church family.

Also surviving are special friends Rev. Clyde Ferrell of Bidwell, Ohio; Dr. Rev. Gene (Elaine) Armstrong, former Pastor of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church of Bidwell, Ohio; Jeremy Peck of Bidwell, Ohio, Rev. Marlin Griffin, Pastor of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church and Carol Petty of Bidwell, Ohio.

Maudine was preceded in death by brothers and sisters:  Calvin J. Morrison, Robert E. Morrison, Clayton Morrison, Carl Lee Morrison, Jerry Morrison, Charles A. Morrison, Evelyn Morrison, Odessa Snyder, Gladys Gehring, Geraldine Cordell, Helen Mooney, and Beatrice Morrison and stepsons, Rayford Minnis and Kenneth C. Morrison.

Graveside service will be held at Morgan Bethel Cemetery near Vinton, Ohio Thursday, July 21, 2022 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Clyde Ferrell officiating. The McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Vinton Chapel, is honored to serve the Minnis Family.
