Merle Joann (Cosby) Howard

Merle Joann (Cosby) Howard, 80, Bidwell, Ohio passed away at Ohio University Medical Center March 3, 2022.  Born, November 9th, 1941 in Jackson County, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Ruth (Stewart) Burney. She was a graduate of Wellston High School and was a member of New Hope Baptist Church, Harrisburg, Ohio. She retired from the Gallipolis City Schools after 20 years of service. 

Merle is survived by her daughter, Shari Howard, Gallipolis, Ohio and granddaughters, Grace and Nora Howard of Cincinnati, Ohio.

She is proceeded in death by her husband, James W. Howard, son, James Christopher Howard and brother, William Stewart. 

Funeral services will be conducted by 2:00 PM Sunday, March 6, 2022 on the McCoy- Moore Funeral Home, Weatherholt Chapel, with Pastor Christian Scott officiating. Burial will follow in Bunch Cemetery, Bidwell, Ohio. Family will receive friends 1:00 PM to the time of service.  Pallbearers will be Dwaine Young, Andy Howard, Nathaniel Gordon, Christopher Gordon, Jared Price and Matthew Gordon.
