Oakley J. Curry, 92, Vinton, Ohio passed away Monday, March 9, 2020 at his home. He was born in Monaville, West Virginia May 3, 1927 to the late Jeff and Mary Wooten Curry. He married Cora Curry and she preceded his death in 2006. Oakley served in the United States Navy during World War II.
Oakley is survived by daughters: Mydonna (Bert) Britt, Galloway, Ohio, Susie Priest, Grove City, Ohio, Joanne (Ed) Jordan, Grove City, Ohio, Janice (Jerry) Lirette, Grove City, Ohio and Debra (Dave) Welch, Westford, Massachusetts; son, Brian (Mary) Curry, Winterhaven, Florida; fifteen grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Charles Curry, Gallipolis, Ohio and Donald Curry, Bidwell, Ohio and sister, Juanita (Jim) Hamilton, Indiana.
In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by sons, Gary Curry and Stevie Curry.
Funeral service will be held 12:00 PM Saturday, March 14, 2020 at the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Vinton Chapel, with Pastor Clyde Ferrell and Pastor Calvin Minnis officiating. Burial will follow at the Vinton Memorial Cemetery, Vinton, Ohio. Family and friends may call at the funeral home beginning at 11:00 AM to the time of service.
