Raymond "Gene" E. Argabright

Raymond Eugene "Gene" Argabright, 86, of Kannapolis, North Carolina went to be his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Tuesday, June 28, 2022 at Atrium Health Cabarrus Hospital after several years of declining health.

Raymond was born May 22, 1936 in Vinton, Ohio, the son of Ish and June Argabright. Raymond was raised in Ohio until he was 18, he joined the military. He has been a long-time resident of Kannapolis, moving to the area in 1975 after retiring from the Air Force as a technical sergeant. While serving in the military he was stationed at many bases overseas including  Guam, Vietnam, Turkey and Okinawa. 

Raymond also retired from IBM in Charlotte in 1993 as a programmer.  He enjoyed playing sports all throughout his lifetime from basketball, fastpitch softball, tennis and most recently enjoyed horseshoes with the Cabarrus County Ringers. He was a member of Blackwelder Baptist Church in Kannapolis. 

Those left to cherish his memory include his children: Vickie (Jamie) Beach, Jill Argabright, Jay (Sherri) Argabright and Mark (Tanya) Argabright; grandchildren: Craig Argabright, Amber Troglin, Jessica Sechler, Katlynn Moore, Brady Argabright, Lane Argabright and Chase Argabright; great-grandchildren Paisley and Barret Sechler; sisters: Velma Williams, Judy Perry and Paula (Keith) Saunders and numerous loving nieces and nephews.

Graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, July 9, 2022 in the Vinton Memorial Park with Full Military Rites conducted by the Vinton American Legion Post #131. The McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Vinton Chapel, is honored to serve the Argabright Family.
