Richard Curtis Layne, 60, Point Pleasant, West Virginia passed away Monday, August 9, 2021 following a hard-fought battle with cancer. He was born in Gallipolis, Ohio October 4, 1960, son of Virginia Kuhn Layne, Point Pleasant, West Virginia and the late Jack Layne. A loving son, husband, dad, brother, grandfather, Richard was also a United States Army Veteran whose family always came first.
Richard is survived by his mother, Virginia; wife and love of his life, Beverly Chapman Layne, Point Pleasant, West Virginia; sons: Brandon (Virginia Saunders) Henderson, McArthur, Ohio and Travis Henderson, New Haven, West Virginia; daughter, Tiffany (Darin) Faschingbauer, Bloomer, Wisconsin; fifteen grandchildren; brothers, Timothy (Debbie) Layne, Gallipolis, Ohio and Dwayne (Janelle) Layne, Point Pleasant, West Virginia and sister, Pam Chapman, Point Pleasant, West Virginia.
He, along with his wife Beverly and son, Brandon, worked as a team installing flooring while working for Chillicothe Carpet.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jack Layne, July 23, 2021.
The family would like to thank the Ohio State University James Cancer Center doctors and nursing staff for their care of Richard during this time.
Private Graveside services will be conducted for the family at their convenience by the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Wetherholt Chapel, Gallipolis, Ohio. Burial will be in the Centenary Cemetery, Gallipolis, Ohio.
